Addressing the critical need for accessible financing for women, the Department of Trade and Industry-Small Business Corporation (DTI-SB Corp) has awarded P21.6 million in loans to 15 women-led and women-owned businesses at the Bagong Pilipinas MSME Hub. The initiative ensures that hardworking women have the accessible credit they need to build successful lives and businesses right here at home.
The awarding ceremony for these women entrepreneurs took place alongside the launch of a broader financing push, which includes the new OFW Negosyo Fund and the Export Business Expansion Financing program. While the P21.6 million was dedicated exclusively to women-led firms, these companion programs provide a wider safety net for the economy. The OFW Negosyo Fund specifically offers a lifeline for Filipino families dealing with job losses from the Middle East crisis, helping returning Filipinos establish sustainable livelihoods in their home country.
To date, DTI-SBCorp has disbursed more than P2 billion in loans to women-owned and women-led enterprises. Interested entrepreneurs can apply online through the official mobile application, SBCorp Money App. Applicants are required to submit a business permit, such as a Barangay Certification, Mayor’s Permit, or BMBE certificate, along with a government-issued ID, proof of a bank account, and photos of the business assets, including signage and inventory.
