In a landmark move to support our country’s modern-day heroes, the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through its financing arm the Small Business Corporation (SBCorp.), has officially launched the OFW Negosyo Fund today, March 11, 2026.

The official ceremony, held at the MSME Hub of the DTI Filinvest Building, was attended by key government leaders including Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac and Assistant Secretary Kiko de Guzman, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator Patricia Yvonne “PY” Caunan, Small Business Corporation president Robert C. Bastilo, and PhilExport president Dr. Sergio R. Ortiz-Luis, Jr.

The ₱2-billion fund will provide expanded financial assistance to OFWs, empowering them to navigate sudden and unexpected circumstances, including contract termination and displacements, and smoothly reintegrate them at home by launching sustainable businesses.

By providing easy access to capital without the burden of collateral for smaller loans, the DTI and SBCorp. aim to ensure that returning workers can transition from being job seekers to job creators, allowing them to secure their families’ futures without starting from zero.

Starting March 12, 2026, OFWs can begin availing of the fund, which mirrors the flexible terms of the Women’s Enterprise Fund. Loan amounts range from ₱30,000 to ₱20 million, featuring an option of  0, 6 and 12 months grace period on capital and interest for eligible products. Repayment terms extend up to five years, and collateral requirements are waived for loans up to ₱5 million.

Applications can be submitted via the DTI-SBCorp Money App or the web app at app.sbcorp.ph. For hands-on support, OFWs may visit any of the 1,431 Negosyo Centers nationwide.
